TYPES OF RELATIONSHIPS

There are four basic types of relationships that encompass all of these situations:

  1. Family Relationships
  2. Friendships
  3. Casual Relationships
  4. Romantic Relationships

DEVELOPING HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP

People need to learn the following to develop healthy relationship:

  • To communicate effectively so as to understand each other
  • To negotiate
  • To make appropriate decisions
  • To resolve conflicts
  • To uphold each other’s self-esteem
  • To be assertive

FACTORS THAT INFLUENCES HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS

  1. Genuinely liking and respecting each other
  2. Doing things just to make each other happy
  3. Enjoying and valuing time together
  4. Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  5. A commitment to work through conflicts and disagreements in a respectful
  6. Realistic and agreed upon expectations of each other; with a willingness to live up to those expectations
